A new Bayview Resort in Eagle View, about 35 miles (50 kilometers) south of downtown Sacramento, will be the first new resort in the region since the closure of the historic Gold Rush town of Elkhorn in 2003, according to the city.
A city-subsidized development is being built to replace Elkhorne, a resort that was destroyed in a wildfire in 2013.
The new resort will be called the Bayview Hotel and Spa, and it will include a casino, a swimming pool, spa, spa bar, and golf courses.
A $6.5 million (€5.3 million) renovation project is also underway to create a new hotel that will also include a new spa.
A new theme park is also under construction at the resort, which is also being dubbed the Eagle Ridge Resort, which was a resort of some importance to the Gold Rush population in the 1930s.
